U14 Girls Div 2 Tournament Wrap-Up.
The U14 Girls are now back in Dunedin recovering from an intense few days in Christchurch. Their round robin pool was tough and the play-offs were even more challenging. The standard was incredibly high and the girls showed grit and determination to fight in every game. Unfortunately the came home without a win but they have improved massively for a team mostly made up of younger girls. The girls showed their tenacity by smiling after each game and telling everyone how much fun they had. A highlight of the trip was the friendly match against Tauranga Water Polo, where coaches from both teams jumped into the pool in the second half. It was a fabulous way to end the tournament.
A huge thank you to the Team Manager Eloise, who was an absolute superstar taking on the motherly duties for 12 girls! Not an easy task and she handled it all beautifully. A shout-out to Cathy and Ian for transport and cooking support. Many hands make light work and the extra support was vital to make the trip run smoothly. The girls should be so proud of their efforts and we’re excited to see them grow in the future!
- Coach Maddie
Plus a huge thank you to Maddie Brown for coaching these girls. These girls admire her hugely. Once again Maddie has shown us why she is Coach of the year! Congrats Maddie, can't wait to see what you and the girls get up to next year.Photo Credit: Josef Power (Instagram: @joes_powerful_photos)
